Hello Davi, I'm sending you the model of the Amerigo Vespucci for publication on Mar de las Garrafas. The model measures 30 cm from boom to bowsprit. The bottle is a 10-liter laboratory model (€196). It was quite a complex project due to the many details to consider. I modestly believe I've done a good job. I'll leave it to you to comment and choose the photos. The frigate Amerigo Vespucci was built in 1930 and launched the following year. Its name honors the great Italian maritime explorer Amerigo Vespucci (March 9, 1454 – February 22, 1512). A Florentine, he was one of the first to raise the question of the existence of the American continent. Currently, four years after its centenary, it sails continuously.



The Soviet Union seized this ship during World War II, with Italy being one of its adversaries. At the end of the war, the ship was returned without incident.












The Amerigo Vespucci sails mainly in the Mediterranean Sea and occasionally calls at ports in America. In 2002, this Italian Navy ship completed its first circumnavigation of the globe.











The Amerigo Vespucci currently serves as a naval training ship, training sailors for the Italian Navy. This vessel is a symbol of Italy and celebrates the importance of its territories in the ocean exploration that shaped the country.







This ship has three masts of varying heights: 50, 54, and 43 meters. These masts support a series of canvas sails, for a total area of ​​2,824 square meters. In strong winds and rough seas, the ship can reach a speed of 12 knots (approximately 22 kilometers per hour). With its steel hull, it is 82.4 meters long, for a total length of 101 meters including the bowsprit (the nearly horizontal mast at the front). Its maximum beam is 15.5 meters. Fully loaded, the ship can weigh approximately 4,146 tons.

The standard crew of the Amerigo Vespucci consists of 15 officers, 34 sergeants, 30 petty officers, and 185 sailors and corporals. In the summer, when naval cadets embark, the total crew reaches approximately 450.

Visits to the "most beautiful ship in the world" are public and free.
